Full course description

The Test Equity course series provides professionals with essential information to improve test equity for deaf individuals. Course 1 provides an overview of key issues including defining what a test is along with key terminology, what a fair test involves, and how accommodations can improve test equity for deaf students.

Participants in this course will...
  • develop a solid understanding of testing and accommodation terminology,
  • identify key issues to consider when administering tests to deaf individuals, 
  • identify accommodations to consider when administering tests to deaf individuals, 
  • identify key issues to consider when using an interpreter during testing, and 
  • identify key issues in interpreting test results for deaf individuals.
The National Deaf Center is an approved sponsor for RID's Certification Maintenance Program and offers 1 CEU (professional studies) for the completion of this course. CEUs are submitted to RID on a monthly basis for qualified participants.  Participants will also be able to generate a certificate of completion for their own records.
